Yearly, FATE awards individual scholarships through a competitive process to students enrolled in the Foundation-sponsored programs. Students apply the scholarship funds toward additional training at a variety of postsecondary educational facilities. To be eligible for selection, applicants must be current

Fairfax County Public School students in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program.

Who’s Eligible?  Current seniors who are taking or have taken:
          Automotive Collision
          Automotive Technology
          Construction Technologies

          Criminal Justice
          Electrical Construction and Engineering

          Entrepreneurship

          Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration


Scholarship awards are between $1,000 and $5,000 each


Before accessing your scholarship application, please collect all required information as follows:

  • Basic student/parent biographical information (annual family income, ages of siblings)
  • Scholarship needs (additional information on your education/experience/achievement which reviewers should consider)
  • Academic information - cumulative GPA - Post Secondary Plans
  • List volunteer and work experiences (jobs) with brief description of duties
  • Extracurricular activities by name/year of participation (i.e. club memberships, leadership positions, awards/honors)
  • Describe in paragraph form your career plans and goals
  • Teacher Recommendation (PDF format) emailed directly to F8te71@gmail.com

Optional:

  • Resume and Letters of Recommendation from Employer/Community (attachable in PDF format)
  • Counselor Recommendation should be emailed directly to F8te71@gmail.com with student name in subject line


Sponsor organizations have provided funding for students who are graduating high school and going directly into the industry and need an initial set of tools to perform their jobs.
